Ok, so let me start off by saying that I really thought I was the only one that watched that show Chelsea Lately-and even worse the only person in the whole populated Earth that likes Chelsea Handler; sometimes it feels that way, but I guess Beth Phoenix has heard of Chelsea too; and maybe even once liked her too because then otherwise why would she be so quick to respond to her “off color comments.” So, for those of you that haven’t heard…this is how shit went down.
First, Chelsea had this to comment about the rumored Torrie and A-Rod relationship:

To which Beth was none too pleased at the way she proceeds to view women’s wrestling and fired back on twitter; tweeting:
“@chelseahandler made some off color comments about Women’s Wrestling last night…Being WWE’s Diva’s Champ I can tell you with confidence that if @chelseahandler has any question about what a “women’s wrestler” can do or how well we entertain, Id be happy to show her. @chelseahandler please allow me to invite you to see a WWE event, live first hand 2/24 at the Staples Center. Of course, the invitation to @chelseahandler extends to the ring…any time …any place…if you would like to see what the Champ is made of.”
And, of course, Chelsea couldn’t even give a fuck about who she hurts/offends in the process of her “comedic routine” at the round table. I mean, come on, she didn’t give a fuck about Lindsay Lohan or Angelina Jolie then- why would she start now? Just give her some of her own medicine like Russell Brand does- and then you’ll really piss her off! Anyway, this is what Chelsea had to reply back:
And to finally end it once and for all Beth tweeted in response:
“I appreciate @chelseahandler being honest about being too scared to accept my invitation.Who wouldnt be? And now, on to perform for my fans! Thank you to the @WWEUniverse for ur undying loyalty to myself and all of my fellow superstars and divas. Ill always give u my best.”
TBH I rolled my eyes over this whole situation. It was unnecessary for it to have to go to the point that it did. At the end of the day, Chelsea is a comedian and she is not above making the most stupidest and ignorant comments to get a cheap laugh, but if she’s not willing to make comments such as those then she shouldn’t even bother with being a comedian. I think comedians shouldn’t have to apologize or take back the things they say ’cause then otherwise they’re in the wrong profession. I can understand why Beth Phoenix would get upset over Chelsea’s comments and go on the defensive, but it’s a sad truth that women’s wrestling has gone down in credibility points- and, however, I will always commend her and Natalya for trying to stay true to their definition of what a WWE Diva should be, but it takes more than two women to salvage everything that is wrong in the WWE women’s division. Granted, Chelsea never once singled her out, she made the comment of it in general. Sometimes we all must just learn to pick our battles wisely as some things just aren’t worth the energy, time or effort spent, in which case we just shrug it off.
